The Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) is a non profit charitable organization, founded by Ahndrea Blue in 2003. Upon its conception, the focus of MADF was to provide scholarships to students pursuing higher education and funding to individuals traveling in the global south for  humanitarian missions. The foundation’s first program was the Joy Box Ministry, where an individual going through hardship would receive 5 gifts and 5 personalized letters. MADF added direct service to their repertoire in 2009 with the opening of Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank, named after Blue’s late grandmother. Later, in 2012 Blue noticed the rising rate of homeless veterans and launched the Homes for Veteran Program.

Currently, MADF has over 10 different programs all with the shared mission to make a difference in the lives of others by helping individuals access the resources they need (food, housing, encouragement and opportunity) to create positive change in their lives.

Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank

Eloise’s Cooking Pot Food Bank (ECP), the flagship program at MADF, is the largest independent food bank and has the #1 food delivery service in Pierce County. ECP is open 5 days a week and allows clients to choose from a wide variety of quality foods to bring home to their households. The Free Grocery Giveaway Drive Thru Service is a hugely successful food distribution program created during Covid where clients stay in their cars while enough food for a household is loaded into their vehicle. Food distributed at ECP or the drive-thru is completely free to community members and is acquired through annual funding, grants and donations. Food drives, agricultural gleaning and grocery store food rescue contribute to donations. Yearly, ECP acquires on average 1.5 million pounds of food; monthly, ECP serves on average 70,000 people; weekly ECP delivers close to 3,000 homes.
